SWITZERLAND - LAUSANNE
JANUARY 1923
Joseph wants to commit himself into the asylum and see if he can talk to either Guimart or Fenalik. He think that Fenalik, being possibly VERY old and in possession of the LEFT ARM of The Sedefkar Simulacrum, would be able to provide us with some information. Even though he was possible MAD Joseph thought Gaida may have been able to psychoanalyse him.

Joseph was very worried about the entries in Dr François Delpace journal especially “Creatures of the night” and “Attack of the dead” which reminds him of Bram Stoker and his book Dracula which was published in 1897. He makes a point of reading through a copy, wearing a silver cross and filling his hip flask with holy water.

Fenalik

The other investigators, Irma, Gaida, Trent, Gupta, Simon and Wesley all decide that it would be a waste of time and want to make their way to see William Wellington, the man who sent the letter to Chrisian Lorien. Inquiring about The Sedefkar Simulacrum which he discovered from an OLD SCROLL which is in his possession.

The letters address is 50, Rue St Etienne, Lausanne, Switzerland.

We travel to Lausanne on the Orient Express:

Trent and Gaida sharing one berth

Simon with a stranger, sharing one berth

Wesley and Gupta sharing one berth

Irma and Joseph sharing in one berth

Irma And Trent

We meet various characters:

Caterina Cavollavo – Very Famous Opera singer

We all have dinner and retire to the saloon cart. Eventually Caterina enters with her retinue and begins to party. We join in and are greeted like we have known each other for a long time. She seems very friendly, invites us to Milan where she will be performing in two days time in the Scala Opera House.

Irma ends up spending the night with Catarina while the rest of us go to bed empty handed.

Irma And Catarina

When we get to Lausanne we have our stuff left at the Hotel and phone William Wellington to make an appointment.

Joseph, Wesley and Gaida go to stake out William Wellingtons shop at 50, Rue St Etienne.

Gupta stays at the Hotel with all our stuff.

Simon calls William Wellington and arranges a meet at his shop to discuss the Scroll and his knowledge of The Sedefkar Simulacrum.

Gaida And Wesley

Meanwhile, Joseph, Wesley and Gaida see someone come out of the shop and Gaida follows him to a local church. He walks very stiffly and wears a hat too big for him. He sits at the back of the church and doesn’t take off his hat or sing.

Irma, Simon and Trent make their way to 50, Rue St Etienne to meet William Wellington at his Taxidermy shop.

We discover that his piece of the scroll was in his family for a long time and it came into his possession during WW1. This relates to the information we gathered from records from the Napoleonic Wars. It would appear to be true, therefore. He does not know anything more about the Sedefkar Simulacrum and just wants to sell the Scroll in his possession.

There is a ring at the door. William goes down to open it and comes back with a Duc des Esseintes. He is also interested in buying the Scroll from William.

Duc des Esseintes

The Scroll is not in the house, so William suggests we all meet up at his Club and we can both bid over the Scroll. We need to possibly follow him to see if the scroll is someone else or not.

Duc des Esseintes offers to show Irma, Simon and Trent round Lausanne. He shows us the sites, we have dinner together and he does not give any information about the Sedefkar Simulacrum or himself away (very slimy character).

We say goodbye and ????? follows him back to his town house, a very formidable place. We should possibly go, break in and take a look around this house.
