That evening we prepared for the assault on the National Guards barracks locate in a quite suburb of Los Angeles. I went alone with Trent, Irma and Wesley. i had the idea to borrow some uniforms from the wardrobe department at the Atlas Studios. This may help to disguise our true intentions to any prying eyes. We also borrowed a truck, i'm sure Mr Grant Winwood wouldn't mind.

Shopping Truck

When we got to the National Guards barracks we did an initial perimeter check of the building and block. Our best way in was through the gate leading to what appeared to be a large courtyard. Trent pulled our truck up as close to the gates as he could and, alone with Irma, got out to try and pick the lock on the gate.

Trent, maybe under a bit of pressure as this was a Government Building after all and we all knew that was federal offence if we were caught, attempted to pick the lock but couldn't quite do it. "New type of locks that i have never seen before" he explained to Irma. Irma then took the initiative and climbed over the gates and down into the court yard. Trent scrambled up over and after him both making less sound than a cat would.

Once inside the barracks they could see several small building, an army truck in the courtyard and the main building. They made their way directly to the main building and examined the door for alarms. Irma spotted an alarm bell out side the door with wires from the alarm running into the main building. Trent gave Irma a leg-up and Irma wedged some gum between the bell and clapper to muffle the sound.

Trent then attempted to pick the lock and was successfully, better the confidence will do him good and remind him what he is; a detective, and they both slipped into the building. Irma and Trent had a good look around and found the door to the armory. the door was protected by 2 locks and they also spotted wires leading into the room and connected to several alarm bells in the building. Irma and Trent muffled the alarms again and Trent had got into his rhythm and picked BOTH locks without any trouble at all. Inside they found the JACKPOT and listed below are they items we now have in our possession:

Wesley and i saw this and I got out of the truck, put on my army cap and lit up a lucky. This seamed to reassure the man and he went back in to his home.

We loaded all the equipment into the truck and Trent drove us back to the film lot, all happy with a job well done.
